This week we talked about what Model UN is, the conferences we will be attending, the history of the UN, and its organization and structure. If you missed us, see the presentations below for a quick review. Remember to fill out this survey if you haven't already!
We also discussed obligations as a member of this program. Members are expected to attend meetings regularly and to conduct research on country positions and solutions outside of meetings. Writing position papers is also homework. You can be in Model UN and be a member of other activities, but please be aware that if you don't put much in, you can't expect much out. (Conversely, if you put lots of time and effort into MUN, you will get more out of it than you could ever hope.)
If you seek more information, tips and tricks, or general wisdom about Model United Nations, we direct you to bestdelegate.com, everyone's favorite source for MUN stuff!

Note: When viewing the second and third presentations, be sure to click the gear icon in the lower left of each presentation window and select "open speaker notes." There is a lot of information there that is not found on the slides.
